Northeast Ohio

How do I get a library card?
To register for a library card, stop in any Geauga County Public Library to complete an application form. You will need to provide identification to verify name and current mailing address. Your signature on the form is your agreement to accept responsibility for borrowed materials.
Minors under 18 years of age need the signature of a parent or legal guardian to accept responsibility for borrowed items. Until a child has reached the age of 18 years, the parent or guardian is responsible for selections and fees.
See Policy #711 for more information.
How do I obtain a PIN number/Password?
You enter a password when you fill out the library card application form. It must be at least 4 characters long. Once the password is saved to the patron record, it is encoded and staff cannot see it. If you forget your password or never had a password, present your library card at the check-out desk and staff will enter your preferred password into your patron record. For suggestions on creating secure passwords see http://www.microsoft.com/protect/fraud/passwords/create.aspx .
How do I access the catalog?
You can access the catalog at www.geaugalibrary.net . Click on “Catalog/MyAccount” on the top toolbar. For direct access, go to http://gcpl.kohalibrary.com .
How do I reserve a meeting room?
When the meeting rooms are not in use for library programs presented by staff, by a “Friends of the Library” group, or by a library affiliate, it may be used by the public. Meeting rooms are available to the public for civic, cultural or educational programs or meetings. The meeting rooms are not to be used for fund raising, for for-profit programs or organizations, or for private parties.
Check with the library to see if the meeting room is available on the date you wish to use it. Fill out an application form which is available in each library. The library manager needs to approve each request.
See Policy # 556 for more information on public use of meeting rooms.
How do I renew library materials?
Most library items may be renewed. You can renew in person at the library, by telephone during library business hours, online at www.geaugalibrary.net by clicking on “Catalog/MyAccount,” or go directly to http://gcpl.kohalibrary.com .
